Has anyone come across a problem when saving a psd file (document size ie 27cm x 8) to a pdf file either in cs2 or photoshop elements 4, the document size decreases. (document becomes 5 cm x 3cm approx) My pdf files become business card sizes instead of dl size. I would appreciate some help with this. Thanks Tudd

That sounds very strange indeed. Are you doing something funny to the resolution?

No, the resolution is 266 dpi for some printing & 300 dpi which is my norm. I have used photoshop elements 4 in the past to save pdf's and all was well. But I needed software to save as cmyk and pdf for printing and since I have installed cs2 or the adobe reader 8....my pdfs are downsizing. Tudd

Have you checked your settings for compression? Check to see if your PDF settings are automatically downscaling your resolution.

I have set the compression at no compression, trying anything to stop the compressions. Previous to that it was downsize to 300 dpi, so that should not have been a problem. I think I have just about exhausted possibilities. It is either fix this or move to other publishing software. Have been using photoshop for a long time and don't want to do that if possible. Tudd

You said you needed software to save as cmyk and pdf for printing? Photoshop is not a publishing program - Quark and InDesign are.

This gives me the impression that you have designed this in another program and possibly exported the file as a PS compatible format. Or, did you copy/paste it into a new PS doc? OR import/open from another software program? More info on this file would help determine the issue I think.

Photoshop saves PDFS with not very many options - if you have a 300DPI CMYK file - flattened, and save as quality of 12 (maximum) - encoding JPEG, and keep Image Interpolation UNCHECKED, your file should work - it will save it exactly as you have the file setup!
