I am running windows vista and I NEED to install IE6 for web testing (vista comes with IE7). At work we use a “Multiple IEs in Windows” programme but the URL to download this no longer works. Any ideas what I can do, I need to update my portfolio. Have attempted to install a VPC but I am not keen on that idea, and its confusing.

oldversion.com should have it. But it may take a few tries to load the page.

There was just a thread about http://browsershots.org/ , have you considered that route?

This is what we use at work and its very good. But I have installed it on my laptop and when i click on an ie icon after instalation it says" The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate the application."

There is http://www.browsercam.com/Default2.aspx limited free for a while
And http://browsershots.org/, free but you may have to wait up to 50 minutes for an answer.

I am going to have to get bf to install this on his laptop as he has XP and Ill just have to keep swapping and changing and think about installing XP on here. It shouldn't be as difficult as this in 2008 though. Its ridiculous.

I think it just boils down to the fact that vista doesn’t support IE6. It’s a good job my bf has XP or else I would have been stuck. What are we suppose to do in the near future? Go back to “Best viewed in IE7”?

Well my choice is not to use Vista. Probably not practical to you :)
