When I try to do things in Photoshop I get that error message saying that it could not complete the task because there isn't enough RAM.

Why is that?

I just had the net and PS running...have a PC...my hard drive doesn't look too full...

I've got 504 MB of RAM...is that not alot?

The version of PS is CS2

:eek: Oh, dear, Lisa do you really mean MEGAbytes? My machine has 5 GIGAbytes... i can't imagine you could run the OS and PS with 500 Mb!

Definitely increase your RAM. I would recommend at LEAST 2 Mb. If you can afford to max out your RAM slots, do so.

what's it mean when PS closes after you do something like import an image? Is that a RAM issue as well? argh...

If Photoshop runs out of memory, it uses the scratch disk. If that's full, Photoshop goes "Diz playce eez too small, I leevin." and runs away.

mean while....try to clean your disk..to get a bit more room..
or create some CDs with files and clear the memory...
i think that might help..

Defrag your drive too if you haven't in a while.
