Has anybody heard anything about IE8 other than the 3 articles that I found on google?
And do you think this will finally mean I can stop testing/hacking/pulling hair out for IE6, because if I have to find a way to get 6, 7 & 8 on my two laptops I'm going to quite my job and move to the woods of Canada.
I have a feeling that you will still have to support 6. Microsoft is hinting that there will be a Q4 release date for it - IE6 still has a 30% market share. I don't know if you will get a significant drop in less than 9 months.
But in true Microsoft fashion ... the beta will go out, people will hate it and they will scrap the current version. 2 more betas and 3 years later we might have a solid release date. Look for it in about 2012

True, but there aren't many trees here, as they're actually crud covered bums and lost suburban house wives.

I wouldn't worry about IE8 until sometime late next year with official release in 2010.
They are supposed to be fixing all the fixes that they didn't fix in IE7.
From the prelims, IE8 is supposed to support "the standard" of browser output and be compliant with CSS3. Then add in the other IE only filter support. And they are trying to dump a bunch of extras off the core IE and rebuilt it.
We'll see how much of that is true.

So far all I know is it renders differently from IE 5, 5.5, 6, 7, Firefox, Opera, and Safari for mac and windows. Yea.
