Hey.

Where I work we are in the process of hiring another graphic designer, essentially to take over the duties I currently have. What I'd really like to do is give the applicants a short written test to get a better understanding of their knowledge. (Just to supplement the interview of course.) I'll also give them a short test in Photoshop to get an idea of their work methods/processes.

Does anyone have ideas of where I can find a test for the written portion? I don't really have much in the way of free time to devise it myself (plus, I don't trust myself not to overlook something that may be helpful).

Any tips welcome!

Thanks,
Jan

Are your duties currently only using Photoshop?
Or do you use other layout tools?

'm primarily interested in Photoshop. The job entails creating images for being viewed on screen only (print work is VERY rare), for software interfaces, sometimes web pages, and frequently icons. So, the focus of a skills test would be on Photoshop, and perhaps a few Illustrator and Dreamweaver questions.

Plus if I can find some good general design related questions, that would be great.

My problem right now is that I can find some tests online, but it would be too costly to have every applicant sit down and take the test, plus many of the questions wouldn't really apply, so I'm hoping to have something more customized.
