Hello,
Here's a question that I just cant seem to get a clear answer to, so hope you can all help. I am putting together my first "proper" folio with a view to going for a more creative job than I currently have, but the problem I have is size (leave it!) - I keep coming up against strong opposition to creating an A4 folio - it seems that the general consensus is for A3 - can I get your views, cos this is only allowing me further opportunity at continued procrastination - I need a new job!!! Help please
Steve

I have both, a smaller A4 folio that's easy to carry around to show clients and a larger a3 one for interviews. I think in an interview situation you are more likely to be showing your work to multiple people and in this case a3 is large enough for all to see. When I was in my last year at uni (I studied product design engineering) we were told to make an A2 folio, I don't think I've ever used it!

I personally wouldn't go smaller than A3. Maybe that's because I had an A1 when I was a student! It was like a sail on windy days. A bit of a mission when you are a small Chinese lady walking to interviews in heels and a sail of a portfolio!

That would be just about right ;)

I always use an A3 portfolio, its not too cumbersome to carry round but easy to show of your work, whereas A4 is a little small to show spreads.

What about tattooed portfolios? Anyone try that yet?

Permanent or temporary tattoos?

I suppose a tattooist might use their own body as a portfolio.

But if you got someone else to tattoo your pieces onto you, then wouldn't that all depend on their tattooing skills?
