Copyright Issue

What would you do?? I have client that has brought to us 100s of video clips for use in this project. All of which she claims to hold the copyright for. I was ok with this being that she in the videos and they are all about her performance. Recently I discovered one of the clips on UTube with the copyright claimed by another individual. Now I am in doubt of her claims for copyright. What would you recommend I do?

Get it in writing.

if you have a contract on the project, your contract should state that any copyright infrigement is at the fault of the client. It should also state that client assumes all responsibility involving said copyright, and that they own it. As PD said, Get it in writing and you're all good. Its tough to question a client sometimes, so just be sure they accept responsibility before you move forward with the project.
