Hi -

Wondering what you all think of this web page.
http://www.treystoneinc.com/SWL/test/index.html

Still tweaking a bit, not settled on the fonts.
I did create the logo - customer provided.

This is just a temp page until the site is complete. It is for a master palnned community that has two lake which comprise over 50% of the site. The material they gave me actaully says the real jewels of the community are the two lakes. The lakes are open to non-motorized water activities, and, this community is open to the public. (not a gated community)

Based on the above, which is about all i got from the client, i made the decision to play up thebiggest feature; the lakes.
The logo, to me, makes me think of 'young at heart', family place, fun, out door activites.

Am i worng here? I'm getting some crazy feedback from the cleint that I don't get - like instead of a wood background use stone because that's what the entry way has on it.

Just took a quick look, but the EHO logo can't be read clearly.

yeah, will do something about that. Maybe just use the logo that has the image and no words.

Gotta use the one with words in certain states. Check the laws... I think they have Illy .eps files to DL and use as well!

I like the layout with the water, and I am definately a fan of the wood. I am not sure about the texture you've used on the stripes at the top and bottom, I would like to see it with flat colours.

I really dont like the logo, it's far too detailed, but since you didnt design it, I cant complain. Does it not get on your nerves having to work around something you might not like?

Thanks for the comments.

I made some changes, some based on what the client asked, (change logo wording to original green color and have that green color be some part of the design.

bigmedia - I wasn't sure on the bottom texture either. How does it look with just the background bleeding through?

The transparency or something has gone a bit nuts mate, I'm getting a load of blue where all your images are placed.

Hmmm, what browser are you using? IE 6 does not support transparency, in that event i should fix that. I think there is a snippet of code i can insert into the page to help.

In the ideal world, everyone would be running a mac and we'd never have any problems.

I am using IE6, but I was viewing it just fine earlier on today using the same computer :S Everything was fine until you made a change.

LOL - that is so true.

Thischange involved transparency whereas the orginal did not.

Oh ok.

I'm guessing since half the world are using PC's for whatever reason you'd want to make it IE6 compatible? Especially since a lot of businesses are still running XP.

I do like your concept though, I hope you can get the transparency issues sorted, so I can have a look, although I could just jump on my mac when I get home ;)
