WARNING: This is also my day job employer. Horror. The unfortunate thing is that he keeps himself so busy that I have difficulty securing time for active and informative response on the part of my client. This client is a handful. A great guy, but a handful.

Their preferences: I have to watch my design to make sure it doesn't come off looking too "dark". They also want the design center-aligned. (The design I'm displaying here has been updated from a left-aligned version; I've just been tired of seeing so many center-aligned websites and wanted to try to get away with breaking away from it.)

My beefs: I'm left with a lot of space to the left of the logo. I can fill it with photos or a series of photos, but the diamond shape of the logo itself has an incredibly demanding presence over everything else. How do I go about offsetting that? It's hard to work around.

Check the screenshot above so we're all on the same page. I'm supposed to incorporate the logo (in its diamond form) into the website somehow without having it look barfy.

The color choices I've used are essentially a literal interpretation of the color theme from their brochure (what they want me to use), with the addition of a cream color for the background of the content itself. I think it works pretty well -- at least it's not stark white. The outer background color is represented by the surrounding dark red you see. It will fill all of the empty space around the main content.

Their original logo (which they designed in Publisher, sometime ago) looked like this: http://www.dreamscapecreative.net/kc/original_logo.jpg They're keen on the gradient effect, but I think I convinced them to ditch the geometric upchuck behind it. They're still partial to keeping the diamond shape itself. Fair enough. I also made a version without the diamond and gradient, which can be seen in the screenshot.
