Hello.
I would like to see if anyone has any suggestions or links that may point me in the right direction.
To start with, I'll tell you my history/brief. My background is in fine art, photography and then i did a degree in graphic design. I can use dreamweaver fairly well. Jack of all trades, in a way.
I have to create a new website for a sportswear company. The main site will hold all the customisable teamwear pages, and the e-shop (which opens in a separate browser) will have all the ready-to-order stock. It is confirmed that the shop will be simple, easy to navigate and clean. White background, with dark grey text. Good photography, and a little bit of my artwork. Easy.
But then there's the main site...
I can do all this myself, and my boss would prefer it this way. Once a template and basic feel for the site is chosen i can make the whole thing (inc shop) in a couple of weeks. The photos of the stock are done and i'm ready to get started. Layouts and simplicity are my speciality, and I can do a clean and simple layout that is easy to navigate and looks professional.
But the way i'm thinking of taking it is almost the same as the shop part,...dark grey on white, clean, simple. My boss want somethings pretty much along these lines, but we also need to appear 'cool, sexy, clean, honest'...etc.
Is this possible to get this look with what i've described?
I'm also thinking we could do a completly illustrative website, moving imagery, darker, more urban. But this would mean getting an outsider to do it, and it taking months.
I can do a professional looking website myself, but it would be simple. I'm not sure which way to take this, as theres a bit of disagreement in the office and everyones looking to me.
Sorry for rambling. It's late and my mind wandering....
Any suggestions?
thanks for reading!
