Hi all! How do you format a document to be printed as color copies? (What settings would I use/change for a completed InDesign file?)

Also, how do you set up an already completed InDesign file to be bound on the left?

Thanks in advance!!

Edit: Is this even possible on a document that's already created?

Check with the printer to see if there is anything that you have to be mindful of. Even better, get them to print a sample for you and you should be able to see where the file has gone wrong.

It's hard to say without seeing your bleeds and margins, what kind of binding you have etc.

Hmm...this project was handed to me by someone who needed it taken off their hands. I thought I was probably going to need more info...

Ok, so she said we need 5/8 on the left and 3/8 on the remaining sides. It is a document of about 14 pages. How do I change the margins for one side to be different? Sorry...InDesign is a bit new to me!

Do you have the Indesign file? If you do, make sure you have facing pages checked.

Then set up the margins either on the master pages or by selecting all the pages in the page panel and setting the margins all in 1 hit. Set all the left page margins to be 5/8 and the right page margin to be 3/8. You might find that things don't fit or you might find that you have plenty of room.

Good luck,

No, I mean when I try to set the margins, they all automatically change together and I don't see how to change them separately. Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, I clicked the "unlock" button.
