I have re-vamped my website for my 'company' (haha, really it's just me for now--shhh, don't tell) and I could use some constructive criticism.

www.muzmedia.com (http://www.muzmedia.com)

The portfolio page is still under construction, so the links don't work. Also, I will be including a contact form and am having some issues with text family in Safari browsers regarding some of the section headers, but those are dealable...

Thanks in advance for the input!

It looks VERY nice, very professional compared to something i could do. but just remember, the smallest screen resolution to date is 800 by 600 and is not completely viewable, that's the only problem i really saw, i love the design and it's very well done. good job!

well, width wise, it should be fine...I could probably trim it down a few pixels...and for all those 800X600 people---

GET WITH THE TIMES!! really, does anyone but my grandmother use that res anymore?? I know it's 'standard', but web pages look awful in that resolution...

thanks alot for the comments!

Nice.

Actually, right now it's at 42% 800 x 600 and 42% 1024 x 768.

really? I figured it would have been much lower than that...

I set my page up for 800 width, but add the scroll on the side and there goes the porportion. Guess I have a bunch of tedious work ahead of me. Dunno, maybe I'll just wait. I've been thinking about using CSS instead. I've about had it with HTML, especially Dreamweaver. I'm working on flash version too, but it may be too much for low band.

Yep, 1024 x 768 will have more eventually, but there are many people on 800 x 600. We are just used to talking to other designers who all use higher resolutions.

To get it right for 800 x 600 users you have to have it at 780 px width. (by default the scrollbar is 16px wide, plus a little extra for window borders.) Yes, you should use CSS and XHTML.

Nice site. Very clean cut.

I design at everything from 760 to 700. The height I don't care to much about but if you want to be exact you can design for 780px like Ryan said. It's just a standard so you might as well use it.

Welcome to the GDF by the way.

Nice site, Like the colors, fit's the techy feel of web design. Couple of notes:
1. Little box shapes: I think they should be smaller, or contain an image. They made me think an image should be there
2. The what we do section should be links. I feel like i'm being guided to click on them, and there's no payoff
3. I'm somewhat confused by the imagery's relationship to the concept of a muse, or the techy thing.

It's well laid out, and nice colors. I'd like to see more of a underlying concept though.

I have decided to re-do my site using CSS, one more thing for me to learn, ugh. But, I think in the end, it will be worth it. In the mean time, I will adjust my html width to fit.

1>I was thinking along the same lines with the little box shapes. I will probably add an image of some sort to compliment.

2>The 'What We Do' section does need links...I am in limbo on how I am going to handle that. I almost feel that if I link them, the sections need to have their own page. At this moment I am beating my head against the wall trying to come up with text as it is, so once I can define the services more in depth, I will add them.

3>The imagery is supposed to be the 'artsy' aspect, but I am not completely happy with all of the pics. I may make them compilations instead, more design themed...I don't know...any suggestions?? I don't want to be the 'typical techy web-type' so element wise, I was going for something a little different and interesting.

Thanks!

Ok. I have fixed the width to 777. Hopefully this will work, I have tried it, works fine for me. This is the smallest with I could get without having to completely redo the page.

Thanks for the advice, guys!
