I am sorry for your loss.
This may just be a matter of personal taste, but I would like to see the stem of the cross extended down beyond the bottom of the banner.

as Morea mentioned I would like to see that cross extend down behind the banner as well .. I would like to see the cross on a little bigger scale in general.
I feel bad saying anything negative at all given the circumstances. I know doing something like this can be very theraputic. It was for me. I feel for you Bryan.

Sorry for your loss bro.
I like it! It's a very personal piece so I don't think that there's much that we can critique on. However, I have a question, is it a sunset? or a sunrise? Maybe clearing that up would help it read better. Personally, I don't think you need the banner.
I too, extend my sympathies for your loss.
If I may suggest something, see how you like it without the halo. I think the angelic characteristic is there with the wings. That would mean adjusting the cross a bit, but I think it would work nicely without it.
