A new biz card concept.

I am wanting to break into the marketing scene and offer full brand development and advertising. OF course always doing graphic design as well. This will act more as a biz card ad rather than a personal biz card. Hey wanna hear me say biz again? lol

I know it does not match the website, or logo, yet.

The placement of the words Marsh Graphic Designs & Marketing is really odd.

I would redesign that logo entirely.

The overall concept (drill and wood) is nice though.

I like it the idea! The wood grain is fantastic.

One of the things that I'm uncomfortable with is the word "marketing'. Why is it smaller? To me it reads as if it's something you're not too sure about. If it's smaller to make it fit, why not reduce the size of the rest of the text too? Remember, a business card is not ment to be viewed at a long distance.

Another thing is the placement of the drill. It feels a bit cramped and may be a bit too pronounced. Why not simplify your company name to Marsh Design & Marketing? Or maybe even Marsh Design.

My opinions.

well I would change my name but I already have the domain name and other marketing stuff I would need to change to. The reason marketing is so small is because its a new thing I am adding to our services. My main focus will still be graphic design for now with a overall goal to shift that toward marketing. I want people to see at first that I am a graphic design firm first then want to to see "oh well they do some marketing too". Eventually I will become Marsh Media Associates (after I finish my MBA and have multiple full-time non outsourced employees)

Is there a way you can get another wood texture for the back? Took me a few glances, but I noticed the front and the back have the same sample being used. Also when I look at the card, the drill is a different colored black.

I do like this as a textured business card. Often times I have trouble reading info, but yours is clear.

I understand what you're saying about the reason for marketing being so small, but I have to agree with Buda that the placement looks very odd. Marketing looks like an afterthought. Plus the ampersand hanging out on the right of the line above looks strange. I'd rethink the way you have that area laid out.

i know this really isn't in perspective of what you are wanting here.

But on your website... Anytime i see someones email address as @gmail, yahoo, hotmail, or whatever else, it doesn't speak professional to me.

You have the domain name.

Use it.
info@marshgraphicdesign.com
Conact@ marsh....
Your Name@ marsh...

well.. you get the idea.

But to comment on the card. I have to agree with other on the placement of things. The marketing issue; You could just extend it as part of the graphic designs& marketing. (all same pt. size and all on the same line.)

agreed, wordspacing on logo is pretty bad... it looks like it was typeset in ms word.

i would try and rework that and i think the overall card will be muuuuuch better

thanks for the comments. I have to admit I quickly put together the logo part of the card simply because I have not decided on my main logo. That really is temporary until I can get something more polished. I am thinking about hiring another designer to do my logo. I cant settle on something if I keep doing it myself.

haha yup I have know several high profile designers do this. They says its pretty smart because we can be our own worst enemy when it comes to designing for ourselves. Why not pay to have the burden lifted from us and have a logo we feel we dont have to change every 6 months! Good for branding to remain stable in terms of your image. blah blah blah. So yeah waawho!

i have never really thought about it that way, but its logicaly correct. I change my stuff quite often, but then again, i really havent established myself yet. Considering im still in school, with a lot more to learn.
