Hello designers, I need some help on my icon menu which contains the folder, mail and wizard hat icons. The placement needs work and I am running out of ideas as to where or what to do with it. Here are two more ideas I came up with but want your comments or ideas. Thank you very much for your help!

Kool design,
how about trying to align the options above the menu bar. so for example
home menu options appear at the top of the menu bar like this here...
Home The Ship St. Martin St. Thomas Castaway Cay Pointers
As u can see the bold section explains the selection of the menu bar option and the sub menu appears above the menu option. You can also opt for the below option too....
Home The Ship St. Martin St. Thomas Castaway Cay Pointers
home menu options appear at the top of the menu bar like this here...............
Hope it helps inspire other ways of presenting the work

I woudl put the three icons aligned horizontally with the main logo, and to the the right.
I would also take off the graphic mouseover from HOME and make that menu all text/css.
Plus, it would be a good idea to put a column to the left of the main pictures and get the content off the left side. Duplicating the main menu to a larger set of options on the left wouldn't hurt.
As rule, 'Click Here' is not good web design practise. Use something more information like 'More information' or 'Book Now'.

i really like the tab design--the first of your other samples--the icons are up top and out of the way, but there if you need it...it also puts more emphasis on the main navigation...
i would also like to see the design centered...too much empty space on the right side...

Your second menu is far more impressive than your first.
HOWEVER
I would go with the first because it is standard and does not look out of place.

the icons by itself look nice, but would require some guess work from the user, so probably not the most user-friendly. i like the first one from your second link, but have you tried it coming up from over the main navigation instead? maybe use a different colour for the tab background, like dark red, to differentiate it from the main nav.
