So the inevitable has happened and my company has switched me from a slick G5 to a less than superior Dell :( . Notice I did not use the word "upgrade", as it was not. They tried to fool me with a bigger monitor, but I'm not buying it. Anyway...

In the transition they have also "upgraded" from CS to CS2. At home I use CS3, so I have bypassed CS2 altogether in my Illustrator version knowlege.

Are there any tips or tricks I should know about to ensure I am not frustrated by any little blips that might occur while using it? Not only am I converting to a PC and have to relearn my shortcuts, but I also am learning a new (to me) version of Illy.

Thanks in advance kids!

I would if only the darn computer wasn't locked down to ensure I wasn't upgrading anything or loading on "illegal software". *sigh* at least I found a backdoor in their security so that I could load on my iTunes...

Only thing I noticed about CS2 is it bogged the piss out of my computer and would occasionally crash itself. *shrugs* Once I went to CS3 all this seemed to be resolved though... YAY!

Thanks. One thing I did notice already is that sometimes I have issues with gradients messing with the colour pallette. It will physically change the colour on the document and the CMYK values will be accurate, but the swatch will be the original colour that I changed it from. Or I will sample a colour from another piece of the document and then try to add a stroke and it will change the fill to the gradient it was before I sampled, say, a red from another area.
