Words like perturbed, livid and furious cannot describe how I feel about Adobe at this time. I am an Art Director and use Adobe's Design Suit. After a month of using the CS3 Suit, I have realized that Inbooklet is no longer a part of Indesign. This simple automation took only seconds to perform a complicated and time consuming task for me. I need and used the create new document feature to shuffle the pages for print. This made it fast and easy to package the files for replicators. I do not see a reason why Adobe would remove such a functional part of their program without a substitute program or plugin available. I can not endorse a product that would neglect to include or have a replacement option. I will use Quark and Apple's Aperture If Adobe does not agree to rectify this problem. I plan to send them a list of demands to restore my loyalty in Adobe products. Until then I will blog, post and comment on every art and design site in all major languages on my disappointment with this issue.

Inbooklet was a plugin created by ALAP. I believe ALAP is owned by Quark.
The "exclusion" of this is widely discussed on the Adobe forums. There are numerous scripts created to compensate for the loss
Scroll down and have a read. (Someone else might have a better link. I just did a quick search)

Jeremy, I agree it was annoying. However, there is a workaround with CS3's "print to booklet" described here (http://indesignsecrets.com/print-booklet-in-indesign-cs3.php).

LOL!
I was pissed too when Quark bought ALAP and stopped the InDesign plugins.
Adobe had little to do with it. Blame Quark, the company you threaten to defect to.
One can only shrug and move on. Better things to do out there.
There are plenty of other plug-ins available.

Jeremy, welcome to GDF!
FWIW, I never used InBooklet and don't use PrintBooklet. I've just never needed it. I can understand your frustration, but like PD said, turn the stink eye at Quark, then follow emucru's link to find a fix.

I feel your pain. Inbooklet was cool. Do all my impositions manually now. Though I must say, since I have lots of templates set up now I take about the same time to impose manually as it took me using Inbooklet.

Booklet Printing in the Acrobat print dialog will do that pagination
for you, too. That's what I'd use if I didn't have Quite Imposing.

Interesting, I never noticed that in Acrobat. Nice tip DT.
