I think I'm losing it...I did this same operation just a few months ago and now I can't remember how I did it.

I'm clipping out a chain necklace. I've clipped the outside shape and each link inside the chain. I saved all selections as a clipping path..but when I go to import the image into InDesign and reference my clipping path it is only doing the outside of the object and not including the inside of the links. I've gone back and forth into photoshop, holding down shift as I reselect all the paths and try to convert it to a work path , clipping path, but in photoshop everytime I go to click the insides only the outside turns into a selection.

I'm going nuts trying to figure out how I did this before..can anyone help?

Make sure to check the "include inside edges" in the options dialog once it's placed in InDesign.

So you have multiple paths in the paths layer and you want one clipping path? Did you try selecting paths with the direct select and pasting into other path layers to combine them?

How are you initially making your paths? (pen tool?)

If you do your initial path as a work path then you can do the inside objects on the same path. Once you save the path, I don't think you can do the insides as an addition to the same path.

Yep it still works just make sure the path is selected.

Ok..this is really weird. I closed down In Design for a while..now I just tried placing the image again and all the clipping paths are working. I didn't do anything different..

Thanks..all. I did all the things suggested even b4 I posted this request. Now it's working...

See, I am losing it!!!
