I am editing a document that was originally corrected in CS2. I have two pages with the text frames linked. I have a 1 line intro sentence then the table. For some reason the table always moves to the next page even though it would fit fine on the 1st. I thought maybe it could have to do with the "keep" options but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any ideas for trouble shooting?

Is there a "before paragraph spacing" setting on the table itself that might be bumping it to the next page?

Where would I find that option? I haven't used many of the table styles, only paragraph styles. I've tried selecting the table and seting it to the "basic paragraph" style and the "basic table" style. While it affected the font, it didn't affect the page break.

the table is in the text box and is affected by paragraph spacing as if it were text. Place your cursor before the entire table in the text box (not in the table at all) and make sure your paragraph spacing or leading isn't bumping the table to the next page.
What happens if you drag the bottom of the text box on the first page down as far as possible? Where does the table end up?

I played with this a bit last night but didn't post because I couldn't reproduce it. Setting any of the "Keeps" options caused the last ROW to move, but not the whole table.
Reading #3 made me think of something...and I was able to reproduce it. Go to the paragraph the table is in...click to the left or the right of the table so you get a huge cursor covering the whole side of the table.
Now check the setting in that paragraph style. In the keep options look at "Start Paragraph" and make sure it says Anywhere.
Did that help?
