I have about a million digital pictures I've taken and they are all named HPIM3604.JPG and so on. Is there a way to automatically rename all the images in a folder to something like 'Office Project 101' and so forth in a sequence? /emoticons/cool.gif

Well if your using iPhoto you can name the photo album then when you export it they have the 'photo album' name and number 1, 2, 3, ect.

Graphic Design Heroes! Call me Captain Type Caster. I’ve fought off “The Evil Cosmic Sans” for year but it seems “Dr. Extreme Untalent” keeps bringing him back. I must find a way to defeat this evil creature.

Capt. Creative bring me those comps…

That would be cool but I'm all PC at home and they don't have iPhoto for PC. /emoticons/cool.gif

Humm...Kodak has this old software 'Photo Enhancer' that would pull up a slide show for you but you still have to go in and name them. I guess that doesn't really work then does it?!!? :o( I'll think some more and come back when I have something of use to say :weeps: LOL

Will a batch in PS do it?

i think a batch process should work for jsut that, if not ps, i'm sure there a free prog you can download that would work.

there's something out there called ShutterFly (shutterfly.com I think). Anyways, its mainly for UL images to the web so you can print them... BUT they have this prog you can DL for free, and it does all of that stuff plus some basic editing things (rotate, img-fix (which is kinda like a Auto Levels deal), rename,etc).... So it MAY do what you're wanting. Plus, you can UL to the web and then 'share' them as well, so theoretically you can UL them and then get them from work... or send them to co workers....

Hey Kool - what version of PS do you have at home? I think the batch would probobly do this for you. I'm not sure about previous versions of PS but in PS CS the options you need seem to be there...I THINK! LOL

Yeah I like it cuz I can plug in my flash card and manipulate the files right from there... you hafta sign up to be a member (free) then somewhere in there is a downloadable program you can get... not sure since it's been a while since i DL'd it... but you can select pics from your card, copy them to your HD, or even UL them right from there into your online acct. purty nifty! :D

My PS is ancient, version 5.5. I will have to check and see if it can do it. I never thought of using PS. I will check on this shutterfly thing also. Thanks for the tip CGE. :)
