Basically my internet connection speed is almost as bad as 56k only this time it has a firewall blocking most things.

Don't ask me to explain. It's to complex to bother about and I'm not trying to fix it.

What I want to know is. Are there any ways to make .GIF without losing a huge chunk of quality for some images I wanted to upload to the showcase.

JPEGs too big? GIF's aren't great for anything photographic in quality.

the firewall dislikes Jpegs for some mysterious reason. So if I can't upload the images now it has to wait until next month.

Also, PDF's are bigger than Jpegs arnt they?

would PNGs display? don't do be PDFs - they have to be opened.
