Hi,
I have an assignement due wednesday and I need a real picture of a star sky.
I was going to stand under a tree and take a picture trough the leaves, but so far I've only had cloudy nights, so no stars.
I'd appreciate if I could use a picture made by one of you for my assignement.
Thank you

search for hubble or nasa or real earth, or even just night sky. Many pictures are available through observatories as long as you give credit. Look at the usage agreements before using.
Else, in the resource forum there's a thread with many links to stock photography.

Not true. Morguefile images (I posted links to 2 pics) are free.
By the way, it is really, really easy to draw your own night sky. Of course it won't be correct, but if you aren't worried about accuracy and just want a black picture with a lot of white dots, then it is easy to do in photoshop. I've done it a few times for various things.

Many Nasa images are public domain, or at least available for scholarly and academic purposes (since they were of course, payed for with public money). Do a little research online on a government website and you should be able to uncover some nice Nasa photos that you can use legally for free. Many new photos have been made public in very recent years because of a mandate that Nasa make all of their tax-funded research available to the tax-paying public. Good luck.
