Oh, this makes me so sad. I love Robert Rauschenberg - I did a big project on him in college. He exhibited here a few times. His mother lived here in Lafayette. I love the story that one time she needed to cover her windows for a hurricane so she took one of his large paintings and used it to board up the window - except she turned it so the neighbors couldn't see the painting cause she wasn't so fond of his style at the time! Wonderful man!

I was surprised yesterday to see that Rauschenbergs obituary ran in our local paper. I knew he had family here and used to live here, but I didn't expect to see an obituary. I clipped it and will keep it forever!
