I do love it, its been a while since we've been. This trip will just be to Oahu most likely, as we'll be staying at an aunt's house on the Western side of the island.

Oh thats awesome..It was the first time that I've been and it was just so amazing. For the entire 2 weeks I was on the beach lol. Its definately something that I'll never forget. Especially Pearle Harbour. It was on my "To Do" list before I die. :) We had stayed in Ko Olina..God it was breathtaking.

The other day I was listening to a report about the impact of oil prices on air travel and the assembled panelists were discussing, in all seriousness, about the grave new world where the 'average' citizen would no longer be able to afford the cost of air travel.
It was good for a chuckle or two between myself and my wife. In our 21 years of marriage we've flown only once on vacation (from Ontario to Nova Scotia in the last of our pre-children days), and never since with our children. I guess all our trips to Hawaii, Disneyland and such have long since been converted into education saving plans.
But it does make you wonder what kind of air travel system can be maintained when ONLY the relatively wealthy can afford to use it.

Did you go recently? If so did you go to Hawaii (the island...) I'm really curious to hear if anyone has seen anything up close of Mt kilauea. I went to Hawaii just a few months before it exploded. See anything?

I know what you mean. As a working student and such it is quite hard to afford to travel considering the average plane ticket is $1000. I'm going to the UK in June to meet my fiances parents and its costing me a fortune to get there. I think that this will be the last trip I take for a while lol.

^ That's a little bit like saying you don't like the cooking in China. Canada is one pretty fat, honkin' country. Several time zones, three oceans-- there's a lot of variety of weather.
Though I have heard it said to be truest in Calgary that if you don't like the current weather, just wait a bit.

Lool I know and I love Calgary but the weather here changes every like 5 minutes...I was on the C-Train heading downtown and It was seriously nice and sunny. As I was heading out from the tunnel to 39th Ave, it was snowing!
