Illustrator x and y

Hi, sorry if this has been covered somewhere on here before. In my new job we are using illy CS2 and it was all working fine yesterday, but it has crashed a couple of times this morning and now the x and y coordinates just stay at 0 no matter where anything is placed, yet the info tab still shows them in the right place. Is this a bug, or is it a setting?

You might need to trash your prefs.

There's nothing in the preferences about xy coords though.
