Maybe some of you remember when I was talking about my little white cat (Martok) and how sad I was that my ex-husband took him when he moved out.

Well, yesterday cat and I went down to Petsmart to get some litter, and noticed this beautiful boy up for adoption. When I saw his name I knew that it was meant to be... he's called Martell!

Thanks again for sending me those articles. Actually...I am really worried about Spanky and am calling the vet today for an appointment. I think he has a kidney problem :o( I hope that's not the case but I would rather know for sure. There is definately something wrong with him. I'll keep you posted...

Definitely let me know! And don't worry, cause cats can live with it for years and years - you might just need to make some changes to his diet.

Thanks Morea. I definately need them to tell me what he SHOULD be eating if this is a problem he is having. He is very small now. He use to be like 13 lbs...now more like 8 or 9.

Debz...I'm really not sure. I took him in April and had all shots updated plus they did bloodwork and urine test just to make sure everything was fine bc he hadn't been to the vet on time in awhile :o( But everything came back 100% on that. He had severe ginigitvitis which was why I took him in bc I noticed he was getting smaller and not eating much - turns out the food was hurting his mouth and once I noticed swollen gums is when I took him in. He had been vomiting too but they said it was most likely acid from an empty stomach.

I have raised his food bowls up some by putting a phone book under them. Since I did that he has only vomited I think 2 times. But he will NOT eat the dry food now. Period. So I am giving him wet food so he will eat SOMETHING. He is a picky eater!! I need the vet to tell me what I SHOULD be giving him I guess. I dunno...I just hope he is okie. I'll let you guys know when I know more.

elevating the food bowl is suppose to help them bc they are leaning down to eat..suppose to help with stomach acid and food digestion.

Spanky had some hairballs too but I have been giving him that 'CatLax' and he likes it...LOL so that hasn't been a problem lately I don't think. If you haven't used that stuff check it out. They seem to like it...and it DOES work!

I think i have something like that.. is it a brown paste? they werent to wild about it.. lol
I have been giving them every now and then Whiskas Cat Treats Hairball Formula and they LOVE IT!

And they havent been puking as much at my dads as they did at the apt.. weird!

I just called the vet and got Spanky an appointment for Thursday at 5pm. Now I just have to figure out how the hell to pay for it...UGH!

Another good trick - I have a cat that wolfs down her food and then gets sick, so I put a racquet ball in the middle of her food dish and she has to eat around it. It slows her down enough so that she doesn't get sick!

I keep telling my cats that they're going to have to learn how to do the dishes and mow the lawn, cause they really need to start pulling their own weight around here. Those vet bills can be killers!
