Hi, New Here.

I have a request that I would appreciate an answer. I would like to be able to turn small images roughly between 50x50 200x200 to images that are about 500x500. I would like to also make the quality of image to higher standard so that it looks more sharper and clearer instead of been fuzzing which happens when you resize as most of you would know.

Any response I will value.

Thanks

Mark.

If it's a logo, start over in a vector program. Logos should always be vector for just this reason.

Hopefully it is a vector image and easy enough to redraw properly.

If it is an existing company's logo, you should be able to contact their marketing department and request a vector logo from them (provided your reasons for asking are legit).

They are bitmaps: jpegs, gifs etc

Can you email the company and see if they have higher-res ones, preferably Illustrator EPS files?

Too big is if it doesn't fit into your pocket and you can't go to the swimming pools without everyone staring at it.

As a last resort you could try pxl Smartscale (http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=6) or Alien Skin Blow Up (http://www.alienskin.com/blowup/index.html). I've had success using Pxl Smartscale with digital photographs, but I haven't been enlarging anything much over 130% of it's original size. Also, neither of these options are free, but if you encounter this problem a lot then maybe they're worth an investigation.

Neither Smartscale not BlowUp nor Fractals will do any better job than Photoshop CS2 or CS3 if you use the correct bicubic adjustment. CS3 made it even easier by including the 'direction' in the menu. And even pixel-guessers have their limitations. There aren't many pixels in a 50x50 logo, LOL.
Best to get the actual vector logo from the owner in question. Especially since it sounds like you are going up 1000% on some of these.
