What kind of computer do you need?

I am just getting my feet wet with a graphic design degree. What sort of computer will be a MUST for graphic design classes in college? What sort of software programs will I be using? Thanks for any tips!

Kinda depends on how hardcore you are going into it. The 20" base model iMac would probably be a good place to start. Adobe offers several program packages with Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, etc.

I'd say wait to purchase these items until you are actually enrolled since you can get ridiculous student discounts.
