Okay guys as you know I am at Vistaprint, I did template design...for the last three months at least. Now they have given me PS, ILLY, and INDY...w00t! So they also tell me I'm a premium designer! Not getting more money, but I'm doing actual real design...my problem is its still an assembly line mentality. We need to crank these f__kers out fast, (dont spend more than an hour) on designing 3 logo concepts. WHAT!!! anyway I must say some of the stuff is looking ok...and I'm glad to say I am begining to feel like I know what I'm doing. (Four years of college should show that as well) But the portfolio reviews were bad for me, dont know why, but they were. Now I'm one of the only people in my class working the Field...but I digress.

How do you guys feel about putting logo's and such stuff in your portfolio that you spent only an hour on? I am liking some of my stuff, and I'm allowed to use it for self promotion...so I wanna build up my logo portfolio to get some outside business.

I know design is a process, and believe me I take the necessary time out to design for real when I'm working on something outside of work, but would it be worth putting stuff in that takes only a few minutes?

Time really isn't an issue if you think about it. You can spend hours up on hours on 'crap designs' and crank an awesome one out in am hour or less. It just depends. I don't think how long you spent on a logo determines how good or bad that piece actually is. Know what I mean?

Congrats on movin up in the world ;o)

I agree with DZ, it's not the time but the quality. if you have some you feel are nice, put them in.

Ditto to what was said. You either like it, or you don't...although I have one or two pieces in my portfolio that are in there not so much because they are my favorites, but because a lot of other people liked them.
