Hello,

I have just launched a new online printing company and it would be great to get some feedback from our main target audience - graphic designers.

It would be great to get some comments or suggestions as graphic designers deal with printers on a daily basis, and therefore know what to look for in a good print website!

Thank you for your help

Yeah, seems fairly easy to follow and nice layout etc...

Do you have real people we could talk to as well, I might just be speaking for myself here, but I prefer to use a printer I've met or spoken to on the phone. I like to think I get the work through faster if they know me better than an order number.

Yes absolutely!
We don't have any automated machines or anything like that.

If you wanted to call to discuss anything on the site, you would most probably speak to me!

We are a small company that has only just launched the online side of its business two weeks ago, but we have 32 years experience in print!

Glad you liked it :)

Well in a business that can be old fashioned you've pretty much bought yourself up to speed and the company image seems quite modern. Well done.

Good luck with it.

Do you offer a preferential rate to designers, since they are normally good clients/regular.

Thank you,

As it is an online site, the rates are already preferential as we are chiefly targeting graphic designers.

Oh ok, sounds good. Maybe you should make more of a big thing about marketing it for designers then, places like this are obviously good.

This is just me, but I find the whole internet printer thing a bit impersonal, us graphic designers tend to want to build a rapport with our printers. I'll bear you in mind for a future project though and if the price is right, then that has a big bearing on the way we do business, and since you've been printing for 30 years I wont expect a rushed job and poor cropping like these cheapo european places that are hitting the web now.

cool... nice site... I've just ordered some samples! :)
Are you Sarah then? The managing director look annoyingly young... lol :D
Yeah, it's nicer to be able to talk to a real person when you're trying to visualise a print job... and trying to work out a cost too ;)
say, if i wanted something specific doing, would you be able to send out a small sample of paper stock? and can you cope with short run jobs as well?

Yes i'm sure we could send out samples of paper stocks. Although most of them are actually in the sample pack!

I am Sarah yes :) and Jon is the managing director. He's 25. Young, but very very good at his job!

We offer a bespoke service, so if what you're looking for isn't on the site, you can email us or call us and give us the spec of what you are after and we can organise a bespoke quote for you. So we cater for practically every need!

You like the site then?

Thanks for visiting!

Sarah

I have a couple of questions aobut your site:

1 - Is there a reason you don't support native InDesign files?

2 - Will you be doing imposition using Quark Xpress, or another piece
of software?

The impression I get is that you'll be using Quark Xpress on Windows
platform. All well and good as long as your workflow supports live
transparency very well. You might want to request pre-flattened PDF
files depending on the version of Quark you're using. Just some
random thoughts.

The site looks nice.
