OK, I dont know about you guys but when it comes to the weather, I'm a HUGE nerd. I'm facinated by weather patterns and clouds... I'm even really good at predicting the weather. So when I saw this on my way home from my parent's house last weekend I had to risk rear ending the person in front of me to get a few shots. By the time I got home (where I thought I could get a good shot over the lake) the storm had moved out... hope theres some other weather nerds out there...

wow, what an opportunity! I'm not a weather geek but have always been fascinated with it. I've always wanted to storm chase and see if I could get some images of a twister, but we don't get any here in T.O. Although there was reports of a funnel cloud forming a couple weeks ago but it never touched down.

A couple weeks back we had a bad storm with hail the size of golf balls. I didn't have my camera but my car has quite a few mini dents!

I'm a ubar weather nerd. I get it right more times than the silly weather man on TV. (I spent two weeks in Arizona and predicted it would rain. Got it right too.)

There was MASSIVE thunder heads when I was driving home the begining of the month. You could see them 300 miles south in the middle of the night.

For really cool storm fronts check out the stuff out on the western plains. The storms come off the rockies and move like giant trains. It was awesome to watch when I was out there last.

Flordia was the best though. The thunderheads there usually are very small so you can see lots of them everywhere. Like an egyptian pillar temple in the sky.

Wish I could get the shots off my phone I had of one cloud. Looks like a chinese dragon. Not even that much imagination required to see!

:D Yeah, big weather geek here. Mostly because if you don't like the weather here, wait five minutes. :)

My neighbor and I stand out in the back yard to watch the clouds during a storm. One day we're gonna end up in Oz if the right twister comes by!

I couldn't claim to be a weather nerd, but that reminds me of elementary-school textbook cross-sections of cloud formations I'd never seen before. Seeing a photograph of it so plainly hanging in front of you is fascinating indeed! Sometimes even a good illustration just isn't enough to impress how powerful, majestic, and ominous a storm cell is!

I don't even really pay so much attention to the weather (besides pissing and moaning when it's crappy). I'm inspired to do so, now, though I must remember to bring my head out of the clouds when I'm done ;) Thanks for posting the cool photos.
