i like them both, you did a good job!

suggestions:
the only thing i don't like about the top one is the yellow text, it is just a little too bright and i think the hue is slightly off from being in 'harmony' with the other colors. (if that makes sense)
for the second one, i think the image is way too dark, makes that whole area/background seem really flat.

I really like the second one (definitely my favourite), the type works great but agree that it needs more contrast.

I feel the typography on the first one needs some work doing to it (it seems scattered about). Also the high contrast has created a slight bitty effect.

They're good, but I think the band could look more engaging or cool. The way they're chatting with each other looks a bit lame, like they're not relating to the outside world. Good posters though.
