Do you designers would consider lucky/unluckiness factor represented by a logo. This comes to mind after being asked for creating logo which must consist 6 arrows heading for the outside. He believes this can bring some fortune to spread the business out like an octopus that can handle various of things. Alternately he said symbol characterized with an 8 could be something to lead the business in eternity, he can get something in for something paid out. What else symbol of luckiness?

Gosh, this can vary a lot depending on your client's client's culture/society.

I've never heard of the six arrows or the 8 as a lucky symbol, but like Buda said, this will vary quite a bit from region to region. When I think of a lucky symbol, the first things that pop into my mind are a four leaf clover and a horseshoe w/open side up.

The number 8 is lucky in Chinese culture because it is pronounced like another word that means growth or wealth. Not because it resembles anything visually.

He said that's not the six, but the arrow he believes to describe the motion. He wants more directions but I don't think it would look nice to have more than six arrows. I gave him a scratch like this, he seems to agree with it. It has a concealed power as it looks like fortress of chess. Before finalizing it, let it on the floor for your suggestions.

When I look at this I wouldn't assume that it had anything to do with luckiness.

The arrows don't look good with the letters either. Try adjusting the letters so they fit the arros better or try making the arrows start from behind the letters.

Just what came to mind when you said 8 arrow symbol. I wouldn't call it LUCKY though.

I think the eight arrows was an eight points compass, without it you can't locate where the south east asia lies on ;)

Thanks, I think to change the letter to regular font, not the italic, so that it looks more symmetric. We might have uncompleted arrows if the arrows started from behind the letter. He doesn't want any overlapping image so that it can be printed clearly.

7 points would be lucky in the US, but I wouldn't see myself designing a whole lot of logos with lucky symbols in mind. Doesn't seem like it would come across well.
