Two people from Carnegie Mellon University developed this paint system called the Real-Time Gradient Domain Painting. It does things like paint and clone stuff, but the most trippy aspect is that it maintains the lighting when doing so. My mind is blown!

Check out the video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MGjrsPzFc4

This is a link to the project http://graphics.cs.cmu.edu/projects/gradient-paint/

This reminds me of that content-aware image resizing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIFCV2spKtg) we saw last year. I always wonder if Adobe would attempt to license or purchase these technologies for their products. It seems like something they should do, but I'm sure there is a business reason it hasn't happened yet.

You would think Adobe should be funding or participating in those new technologies, but instead they are helping people like Hany Farid to develop software for the government to outlaw "photoshoped" photographs.... (WHAT?!)

I love the voice over artist.

He reminds me of the voice over guys from 1950s educational films.
