Well everyone...I've been pondering thoughts and ideas on this for quite some
time now and finally pulled it all together. This is my first attempt at
designing a web page and I owe a big thanks to Darren DuKate for taking my
ideas/layouts and putting them online for me!

Please check out my site and let me know what you think of it. It showcases
some of my Graphic Design work.

Any and all feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!!! I hope everyone enjoys
it...I know I'm very happy with it!

great job there.....it's simple and easy to navigate, not too flashy and some great work on there. I like it!

I dig your site! It's so clean and simple...but really up to date. Also not sluggish AT ALL!

Only thing I would consider changing is making that grey background just SLIGHTLY lighter. It's a lil dark I think. Other than that...it's awesome! Great work!

Great work... some great illustrations.
I found it very easy to navigate but I don't like your thumbnails/roll overs.

Hang on, we've seen this exact same site before haven't we?

I remember giving you comments about the oversize line spacing in Firefox.

Yeah...I had a portion of it 'in the works' posted in the web review section for initial feedback.

I'm just posting it here now because it's finally live, plus it shows some of my work for those who might be interested in checking it out

Thanks to all of you thus far for the feedback. I kept simplicity in mind when I created it...I want to showcase my work and style...and not a bunch of hoo-hah...if you will. A straight forward, no BS, here's what I'm capable of doing for you, kinda site.

I like, clean, simple and easy. /emoticons/biggrin.gif

I really like it. It's simple and really displays your content really well. I like the roll overs and the clarity of the art in the pop up. I also love the fact that you took time to change the color of the car on each page. I agree with D-zine about the color of the background. It's a bit dark. I really like looking through your art and I find at a lot of sites like this I get bored after a few clicks. Wasn't the case with this site. Very well done!

Oh OK. And I see you've fixed the line-spacings since my last post. Looks good now. Only slight things is, perhaps the splash page is unnecessary.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I really appreciate it a lot.

Now I just have to figure out how to drive people there and hope it lands me some extra freelance work...lol.

I like, clean, simple and easy. /emoticons/biggrin.gifThat's the right mindset to get into when doing a showcase/portfolio site. I think you pulled it off very well (one thing, maybe the rollover navigation buttons on the top should be the color of the car and header text for each page...like on the logos page, when the "LOGOS" link is no longer a link, perhaps make that orange and "COLOR RENDERINGS" blue and etc.; just a suggestion, not really even a nitpick) and it is simple and clean. I still like portfolio sites that are flashy, but in a non-intrusive way. When those kinds of sitesoffer an experience to the user, I think that usually hits home closer than simplicity, but it's a helluva lot harder to execute. If you screw that kind of experience site up, then you will hurt yourself more than you will help. Ultimately, the site shouldn't be the focus but the work in it...though I still don't think all portfolio sites should be totally minimal. I think you hit the balance very well!

Although come to think of it, one thing that bugs me is the rollover Flash buttons...I keep thinking they should make a sound but they don't, but the main thing I'm not too fond of is the delay before they flash. I'm expecting that to happen right on the rollover. To me it just makes it seem like it's running slow (unless it IS running slow on my laptop and I'm rambling like an idiot).

i like the site overall because of the easy to use navigation and simplicity of the layout. it allows people to view what you do without having to figure out what to do next or how to look at something of interest to them. i agree with some suggestions on the gray, maybe go lighter with it. i am puzzled however as to how you integrated the flash elements. if all it is used for is rollevers, then i don't see the point in using flash as opposed to something more accessible like simple rollover buttons. to use flash for that is overkill and it adds to load time when it's not necessary.

The reason they are on delay is so if you are moving your mouse over them just to go from top to bottom or vice-versa, then the screen wouldn't be flashing at you, thus becoming annoying to many people.

This way it only flashes at you when you move over an image to actually click on it.

I considered sound but didn't opt to do that now...maybe down the road. I've got a few other ideas that I'd like to try as well, but I wanna see how well this goes first.

Knowing the kind of customers I'm mailing out biz cards/info to, they're car guys, probably not having the most high-tech computers and they're going to want something that loads relatively quick and is easy to navigate. To me, I get frustrated navigating some sites because there is too much to click on and each page takes you somewhere else, etc. I want potential customers to quickly see what I can do for them and leave them with a good taste in their mouth.

Very nice site. Congratulations. I know it's a big deal to get your work on line. Your work is just amazing. You are a great artist. You know this opens you up for work around the globe. There is a festival here called LakeFest http://www.marblefallslakefest.com/
every year they have a contest on tshirt design. I think you should give it a shot. Your shirts are much better than what I have ever seen.
