Thanks for the welcome...
Well I will fill u in on why I am here.
I came to this forum to gain knowledge of graphic design; I am currently completing a folio for my unit 4 visual communication and design class. I dedicate hours of study and research into design, and well it’s what I love doing I have never felt so well comfortable in doing anything else...
I am currently practicing my drawing skills because that is the area where I lack in. I know both Photoshop and illustrator fairly well and I am pretty good at technical drawing it’s just freehand where I lack coordination

Welcome Dean. Design isn't full of weirdos and fatties. We just make it seem like it :)

Welcome aboard, Dean.
If you haven't already tried it, I would recommend the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain", by Betty Edwards. It's very helpful in teaching you to "see" things properly in order to improve your drawing skills.
