I'm doing a logo...

for a buddy of mine so I thought I would see what people thought of some of my 'ideas.' Please be gentle!...But I can use the feedback.

I like the first and the third one. The Z on the last one just isn't working for me.

I've got two more here too...

Yeah I was debating the one with the big Z then I subconsciously (sp?) thought I was knocking off the Verizon logo but I didn't (not too bad at least)

BTW, I screwed up the name in that first set of logos...it should be Horizon Funding Solutions...I'll get it fixed when I get some free time (Let hope I don't get in trouble for doing this stuff at work)

I like the concept of the third one - meaning the idea of using a sun shape to go with the horizon motif, but I like eht execution of the 4th one just because it looks the most stylish.

I like HorizonLogosEPS.gif and horizonlogo1.jpg the most. horizonlogo2 is just too bright.

Yeah, i like HorizonLogoEPS.gif the best...
but i looks like there is a hairline ourline around the letters, you may want to kill that.
and maybe instead of a plain linear fade on that circle in the background, try making it look like a sphere to give the logo more depth.

the 4th one reminds me too much of Verizon...

The second one with the sun cut off and the horizon...looks absolutely great. Is there any reason why you couldn't play with some type of sunset/sunrise colors to express the theme more? and maybe the first yellow looks a little better than the second..

I like the 2nd one on the 2nd set...nice, simple and clean. I agree with Ryan tho...the yellow is too bright. Could you maybe try that orange from the above logos in place of the yellow...or even have the orange fade into a tint of the yellow? (unless of course you are going with 2 colors and it looks like you are - sorry! Just a thought). I was just thinking that if you could do that, then you could lose the stroke on the font bc the orange to yellow gradient would define the shape of the characters. I like the way you have 'funding solutions' set up also.

Thanks for the comments thus far everyone. You all are very helpful in the process. I'm going to be taking into account everything that has been posted and doing some more work on the ideas I posted as well as hopefully coming up with a few more ideas. Hopefully I can post some revisions later today.
