I'd like to update the front page of my website to have a better handle on content management, so I can post blog entries, images, etc. to keep the site fresh.

My skillset is strictly focused on HTML and CSS and haven't dabbled in back-end code. I currently have a Microsoft host for my site, but I don't know a thing about using ASP and am wondering if I'm better off switching to the more open-source Linux hosting.

I'd like to host a blog on the front of the site, and I'm pretty familiar with WordPress. Should I switch my hosting package to a Linux server?

I'm all for the php movement so I say yes.

However, it depends on whether word press is built using php which I'm assuming by your post it is.

Seems like the logical move.

Sweet, my host server will transfer my account to a Linux server for free. I started the account years ago when I didn't know the difference. Thankfully, I'm not paying the price years later.

I would go linux and take advantage of wordpress. It's pretty easy to customize and get into. I've coded my own in asp.net which took quite awhile and also set up a wordpress / comicpress blog on a linux box and the latter was much much easier.
