i've been drawing dogs the past day and a half for a pattern and just started on the british bulldog. now i'm assuming that this is just where the breed originated but i wanted to know if they are more popular over there than they are in the states. just a random question that popped into my head as i was drawing =]

Yeah, they are quite popular, it's not like everyone has them, they're just loved as a British icon (Winston Churchill bears a striking resemblance which also has something to do with it).

I have no idea how popular they are in the states, so I wouldn't know what to compare against.

This, I think we prefer regular bulldogs.

You can't really call it walking when you see them, they have an odd gait, like a bodybuilder with bad legs and asthma.

I saw one the other day. He was smoking a cigar and playing 5 card draw. :D

If a bulldog lives in Britain, does that make him a British Bulldog?

you don't actually see many proper full on british bulldogs these days... there's A LOT of crosses though... i think most popular dog at the moment is a staffy but that's cos of all the chavs. :D

ahhh ok i just figured i'd ask since we have a pretty good british population on here =] staffys look a lot like pit bulls hopefully they don't fight them like they do pit bulls here.
