hi there.
i have used photopaint 12 for some month now, everything was perfect.
but yesterday the paint-brush didn't work any more.
it just won't paint.
its not a problem with the mode (normal, add, subtract etc.)
when i try to paint on a new layer, it won't show any object-frame.
that means: it just won't paint.
the same with the clone-tool, effect-tool, undo-tool etc.
i re-installed all, but it won't do.
i haveerasedthe interface-file, created a new one. nothing.
i'm just about to go nuts because i need that prog to work with.
but i don't want to re-install my whole PC.
anyone out there with the same problem? and maybe a solution for it?

Do you have a mask on the image? Sometimes you can forget that you've made one (mask marquee might be turned off too) and few tools will work if it's outside the mask.

had that problem in 11 (in 12 now)...had to re-install (just photopaint).worked fine after that
I realise that this is originally an old posting, but I have the same problem!
I have tried everything - completely unistalling (and cleaning the registry) then rebooting before reinstalling - no change!
I have now reloaded Paint version 8 (originally droped because it could handle files properly under XP?) but the paint tool still works fine.
Have there been any answers?
Answered this one myself from a similar problem posted on another board.
'Restart Corel Photo-Paint while holding down the F8 key and reset the workspace to factory default'.
Still not sure how a custom workspace survived the uninstall and clean up!
But, it is alway good to solve a problem and learn a bit more in the process.:)

custom workspace gets kept in a folder etc unless you create a new folder renaming etc
that F8 is a charm tho

The same thing basically just happened to me! I went to use photopaint12 and the image sprayer and the brushes would not work. I tried reinstalling the program, restoring the computer, rebooting and nothing worked. I hunted on the web and found this forum and the F8 key worked! But, I have to do it every single time I start the program! How do I keep the setting so I don't have to hold the F8 key each time??? I use photopaint a lot and this is very annoying! Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks, Sue
