According to Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/cheesecake.asp), July 30 is National Cheesecake day, and in honor of that and their 30th Anniversary, The Cheesecake Factory will be selling slices for $1.50, the 1978 price!
Start saving those Weight Watchers points now!!! :p :D
In addition, a speical, limited edition cheesecake, the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, will be introduced on July 30th with $0.25 from the sale of each slice sold this year benefiting the national hunger-relief organization, America's Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network.
Well done, Cheesecake Factory! :D

Hmm, July 30th, I've got vacation time scheduled then too... maybe swing by the Apple store also since it's right near there. A plan is forming.

Addendum: The $1.50/slice price is dine-in only. :( So I'm not going to be able to fill my freezer with cheezcake after all.

Well Yossarian, depending on your view of dedication, it sounds as if that might require freezing regurgitated, or, um, processed cheesecake. No thanks.

Forget it ... its a ploy to get you to buy other things ... I just want cheesecake! :D

Does that price only apply only with purchase of entree? Cuz I could totally see someone going in and ordering 6 slices of cheesecake for dinner.

Your thinking is way more biological than mine, Craig. I was just thinking multiple disguises, slipping out after they bring the cheesecake, and an ice chest in the car. I suppose you'd have to just leave all the money on the table or feign illness after they bring it out and ask them to box it up for you.
No "processed" cheesecake for me, thanks. :D

OK, my bad, I went to the actual Cheesecake Factory site and got the release:
The Cheesecake Factory Serves Up a Delicious 30th Anniversary Celebration!
Celebrating “30 Delicious Years,” The Cheesecake Factory is serving up several sweet initiatives throughout 2008.
To kick-off the anniversary celebration and in commemoration of National Cheesecake Day on July 30th, 2008, The Cheesecake Factory restaurants will offer every delicious slice of its more than 30 varieties of cheesecake with a dollop of nostalgia by featuring all cheesecakes at $1.50 per slice, limit one per guest, dine in only, on that day—as they were when the restaurant first opened in 1978.
In addition, a special, limited edition cheesecake, the 30th Anniversary Chocolate Cake Cheesecake, will be introduced on July 30th with $0.25 from the sale of each slice sold this year benefiting the national hunger-relief organization, America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network. Additional activities will be announced throughout the year.

I adore cheesecake.
I was totally gutted when our local "The Cheesecake Factory" store closed shop.
