Please critique my website design

Hi there,

i am designing a new personal website for my animation stuff, its just in the planning stage...i have put up a mock at...

any comments about the design would be very much appreciated...i want it to be simple yet appealing, and for images and video of my own to be showcased, so the colours not to be too distracting, but still with some well chosen colour in there...

I like the overall look - like you said, simple but yet, appealing. However, I think that the diagonal lines are too strong in the darker grey area that runs vertically in the middle. I think that they should probably be cut out completely to make the text that will appear there more legible.

Otherwise, I like the typeface, and the simple palette. Wish the showreel was uploaded so that I could have taken a look at it.

Me too! I like it, nice and clean, good color pallette. Are those your characters? I love mamoths!

I really like the look. Nice and clean and focused. Not so much going on to the point of confusion. Should be great when you get it finished up!

thanks for the comments, much appreciated...unfortuanatly those mammoths arent my characters, but part of the film i was working on...
