Was doing a search on a long running problem I've had with InDesign, and found your little part of the world. Glad I did. A quick search of the forum and I found the answer I needed.

Been doing layout since PageMaker Version 1 on that new fangled computer called a mac. Was really different than the 8088 WANG PC I was using at the time!!

Now working with WindowsXP, InDesign CS2 (Full design suite for CS3 is sitting on IT's desk . . . thus finding out having the full suite was the answer to my original question).

Will be breaking out on my own next June or July when I retire to a land of warmth.

Just glad to have found ya all . . .

I just got back to my desert from being back east. I dont know how you handle the kind of cold you are in. Craziness.

And hi!

Zerk, you have NO idea. This has been the fifth coldest summer on record, after about I would guess 5 or 6 WONDERFUL summers. Its broke 70 two or three times this year. And the fireweed is about bloomed out which means snow is around the corner. Headed down to the eastern oregon desert next year . . . can't wait . . . 31 years of this is enough . . . :p

Hi Jennie. By breaking out do you mean you are going to freelance next year?

Good luck with that. There are lots of threads on freelancing so you have plenty of time to read them and prepare yourself.

Budafist, yes. I do some freelance part-time. When I move to oregon, my retirement will cover the basics. I hope to get a part-time job to cover the non-basics, and set myself up doing graphic design / web / GIS. I have experience in all of it, the web though needs some practice. I learned on FrontPage, making it hard to readjust my brain to using programs like dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver is my next task in my learning. I don't have a copy of it but do have a copy of Adobe's ... can't remember the name ... but it came with CS2 suite. It works alot like dreamweaver in some aspects.

My "dream" is to have enough left over after getting the updated adobe software & ESRI software, and buying a house, to get a plotter. We'll see . . .

Thanks for the warm welcome folks!!
