I'm doing this for someone because I need some stuff for the portfolio.

Tell me what you think.

I don't mind the layout at all, I think some background color or imagery would be nice, have you gone around to other dating sites and looked at there advertising? Most of them use BIG pictures of beautiful people, and rotate the images in and out on different page loads. Lose the border on the images, or just use one pretty face, or make them bigger.....just play with the imagery some more.

I think your using to many fonts too, I count 4 on the page, I would suggest using that top header font on the majority of it, i dont like the "Find your best match today" font. I think with some more revisions and a little more direction and this will look really cool. Congrats on the portfolio piece.

Also i dont like the round red eclipse in the center, try making a gell pill bar or something along those lines. Try out http://www.impactdesign.org/index.phpfor some nice gel bars and web stuff.

I think there's way to much negative space. Organize a little more and make the objects fit tighter to make it flow better.

The guy I'm making this for wanted glass effects, so thats why the ellipse looks like that. I will make it pill shaped.

I'll mess with the pictures more tomorrow.

So far so good Ryan...I only have a few suggestions. For the logo...I would maybe move it to the right just a tad..to line it up with the rest of your text to make it look more uniform. See how you have everything flush left in the layout in the main box...and the logo is shifted to the left just a little more than everything else? That's all I was talking about. I know that's nit picky to some but it makes my eyes jiggle (ROFL @ jiggle haha) :o). With the pics, the main thing I don't like with them is that they are left, then right then left, and different sizes, I think since the rest of the layout has consistancy this area should too. Maybe you could have some kinda filmstrip thing with the images put into it or something...does that makes sense? I can see it in my head but can't really say it I guess..hehe :o)

Anyways...post more updates when you get them so we can all check them out! Good job!

Ryan I seen It but I'll comment tomarrow. Today is to hecktec for me. /emoticons/cheers.gif

But it looks pretty good so far,

Only thing really bothering me is the drop shadows. Also use that Xicons tutorial for the glass effect.

I'll be back. /emoticons/cheers.gif

Looks alright if thats how he wanted it...I would make it look more complete, it looks too separated. Fill the background with red color on the left side and organize the content better.

less is more if it comes to fonts, reduce them.

apart from that it looks nice ... not too special though, maybe try to give it a more personal touch cos it looks just like one of 10000 other dating sites on the net.

Nice work. What about making the bevel less strong, or the drop shadow

take the kids to see a replica of what never was...

Hey Ryan I got some advice for you.

The main thing that makes a design flow is consistency. You see on the left you have thing strokes on the right you have thick ones. You need to choose one style. Also on the drop shadow you have a blured one then you have a sharp one. This is another one of those consistent things. The more consistent you can be with design elements the more you piece will flow. It's kind of like music the more the lines match in lycical rhythm the better the song sounds.

But I can tell you you are getting better and I see an improvement. Even if you use it like you have it now the important thing is to get it working and place it in your portfolio. So I say good Job!

Oh and for everyone else that doesn't know Ryan is 16 so for a 16 year old your on FIRE!
