Hi there. My name is Bryan Costello.
I'm living in Louisiana and working as a small time graphic designer by day, animator and cartoonist (hobby) by night.
Photoshop and Illustrator are pretty much my niche and I can pull up some good work when not under extreme time limit pressure (such as 15-30 minute deadline). I am well versed in some other programs as well.
My only downfall is that I need some very slight direction with what I am working on. I have had some work where I was not given information on what the customer wanted in the slightest besides a name/ambigious title before.

I'm currently looking to expand my graphic art knowledge and find a better job in my field.
In such I am looking for assistance on portfolio help. Such as the best way to show it to possible employers or for online work.

Hi Bryan, welcome to GDF.

On getting direction from your clients, do you have direct contact with them? Can you meet them and ask them questions?

When you get settled please read through the threads located here (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=42). They will give you all the info you need on how the forum runs, the rules and regs, and give you some background info on our long running, inside jokes ;)

I currently work through a small business so my 'bosses' all seem to get in the habit of "attempting" to know what the customer wants or making outrageous claims for artwork from me. I tried talking to the customer directly but it is not my job to speak with them they say.
It is a pay/hour job but it is not enough to live off of lately.
So I am trying to find a way to either go freelance or find a better job to work for. Whichever would be more beneficial.
I recently saw creativeshake to start up a small portfolio to show my work off.
