hi there, im new to the forum. i previously posted on the 'general' section and received excellent feedback form the members here. This forum is ALOT different than flash/scripting forums...which is a nice change/addition to my learning process in this field. If you could all please critique my site, tell me what you think... good/bad/horried? :)

Tracy-
I really enjoyed your site! You do a great job in flash...I'm envious! As a self taught designer (aka...non designer LOL) striving to strengthen my flash skills, Im definately inspired. Best of luck in your design career!

Tracy Welcome to the forum, I love your style I didnt know umass dartmouth had such good talent coming from it, BRAVO! I'm from boston area, went to the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk Univ., In any case I love your site, very smooth flowing on the flash, colors are good to show off your work, some great talent. I know it is a tough market here in boston, but I believe your site should help you get work quickly

Nice site Tracy. everything ran smooth for me and no lag time! Great! the ONLY thing that I found bothersome was that when I loadad a move it did the status bar over the image box halfway - not a big deal but you have some white space below the image box you could display that in instead.
Your site is nice and clean...great layout and again what is also important is that there is no lag time when loading pages. It's fast - very fast actually. Nice work. :o)

You are probably one of the best design artist I have seen on this forum, you will make a great addition. You represent yourself well with your site. Clean, modern, classy. Good job. You have worked hard and I can see that you enjoy what you do. I see nothing but success in your future.

Good looking site, BUT, check your spelling. Found a word or two on your CD rom page that was misspelled. Misspelled words can turn off a client faster than anything.

WOWyou guys actually made me cry!! :) thankyou so much for the positive feedback. You guys def squashed any fears that I have about sucking in this field...LOL!!
SubDriver.... nothing to be envious about, this site took me sooooo long to do b/c i kept learning new techniques so i kept changing it, vicious cycle, let me tell you!! If you ever need any help or anything in flash, i'll help as best as i possibly can if u have any questions, etc!! always on IM cause im live on my computer like many of you, so im always around.
Drorain...wow a fellow bostonian...cool =) haha i didnt know UMASS had this talent either, i think i was blessed with some fairy dust after i graduated..haha cause i didn't have the knowledge of what i know now then..haha.
D-zine...thankyou for the comments. i have been really worried about speed and the various connections people will experience considering that half of that site is with AS and then animations. You mentioned the load bar... do you mean in the motion graphics section when you load movies or the transition loadbar between sections.. alittle confused =(
coconut...wow what can i say but i want to hug you =) thankyou so much for the comments
CZmatt... thanks dude for the eye...will update ASAP
thankyou guys for all the feedback. Im looking forward to getting to know you all and especially learning from ALL of you

Hey Tracy I came out of school feeling like my education had vast wholes in it, some teachers were even suggesting i stick around for another semester or two. I was angry, and defiant. . .I should have graduated in 2003, I walked in Grad, but hadn't gotten my degree because of the internship requirment. I worked Full time at my retail job, then I got my internship, it fell on me seemingly...This kick my butt back into the field, then Things excellerated. I have a job at Vistaprint now, to pay the bills, and freelance is picking up. Now I have something I lacked in school...Confidence! I have a lot more confidence that I am becoming a designer, and doing well at it. I enjoy creative and production work, and I can see my work is getting better.
You have a great start, I am glad for you, and I hope that you get a wonderful job. You derserve it, your more talented than I was out of school, I just got my degree in May '04 and did it feel GREAT! even better now that I'm in the field. If your looking for a job, and are willing to come to boston let me know I'll keep my ears open.

Dorian, i know what you mean. At my school, they 'dipped' into so many aspects of design they didnt teach you certain things to excel in certain areas. When i graduated and up until now, i had NO NO confidence in my work, i thought it lacked big time. either the design was poor or my flash skills weren't advanced enough. I buy so many design and scripting books and I just read and get inspiration and motivation from them. In school it was all about knowing the basics and getting the grade, if i remember correctly only one design professor KNEW Flash out of like 10. I know that i cam a long way from school which is a good start. Alot of people had said i looked like a beginner with my first flash site and that just made me buckle down and learn and redo and redo some more. I was afraid to look for anything b/c of those comments so i kept my regular job and just did little projects and tried to learn as much as i can on my site. After a year, im finally happy with the way this site came out. Plus, the members here gave me an OVERWHELMING boost of confidence. In my flash/scripting forums, there's always good feedback and you learn ALOT but 90% of posts say, you can do this better, you need to learn that, this is amateur-ish. It is awesome to get that feedback b/c you learn and excel from the mistakes and new techniques which makes a good designer in any field.
I am in the boston area and my dream is to work there, so yeah if you know of anyone or recommendations, that would be wickedly awesome and thankyou for even having enough confidence in me and my work to do that!! you're the man/woman =)

bIG pERM... i appreciate the feedback, what do u think i could have done differently? how is it 'common'...the AG???
Big Perm-dizzle

not the AG being common - combining letter to make a symbol or logo is very very common -
also it loads a bit slow - other than that great stuff
