Has anyone else had problems with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro quitting on them all the time? It's super slow, and it can't seem to open a simple 1-page pdf file without force-quitting on me. It's VERY frustrating.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

P.S. We just had CS3 loaded on to our machines by our IT folks, and I'm noticing it ALL running very slow. Is there something I can look into to as to why this might be happening?

This is not going to help you but it will let you know you're not alone.

Acrobat v9 stayed on the machines here for about 2 hours. We went straight back to using v8 - and if someone could remember where they put the disc we'd be using v7. It just seems to get worse!

This is probably a dumb question, but do I need Acrobat Distiller installed on my machine? The last time I remember using Distiller was when I was using Quark about 6 years ago and needed it to create a .ps file so I could make a PDF...

If you never use it, then nope. Get rid if it.

Um, you might want to double check that InDesign doesn't use Distillier in PDF Export before you delete it.

And there have been times the only way I could get a file to distill was through a distilled .ps file.

First point. Why would it? When you can buy InDesign as a standalone application?

Second point. True. I would always distill a .ps anyway. But if you've not used it in 6 years...

Eh, true enough. I've always had Indy and Acrobat Pro installed, they were tightly connected in my mind.
