I have a problem when creating a swatch, (eg; horizontal stripes) and filling shapes with it.
When I move the shape, i want the stripes to stay in the same place within the shape.
How do you switch between the 2 options?
Thanks.

i'm guessing this is illustrator, don't see an option tbh.
one way could be to select your filled shape then go object>expand this will convert the patterned shape to masked paths. if that a little to messy for you, use the pathfinder divider tool to get rid of the mask.
getting rid of the mask makes it alot more difficult to edit the shape in the future tho.

i don't know if there is an option but if you hold down the ~ key and drag the fill it will move the fill and not the object. that way you can move you object and then adjust your fill as you like.

cheers, i've found it....
Although now i'm getting the minor problem to when I scale the shape, the swatch scales too. I don't mind this happening sometimes, becuase it's useful...
but it would nice to have the option to change it if needed.
thanks.

Double click the scale tool. In the dialog box that opens you have the option to scale just the object, or the object and the contents.
