I mostly use Quark, and have been working in/learning InDesign as I can. Right now I'm playing clean-up on some files originally created by an intern design student. I've been replacing embedded images with links, but there is one picture that I can't locate.
Is there a way to find the original file name of the embedded image, or am I completely out of luck?

is there a folder that held all of the other images? You may want to scan that to see if it pops up.

You can try selecting the link in your links palette then going to the tip arrow and selecting Link Information. The bottom box sometimes holds the original link path.
<you wouldn't believe some of the computer names I see and how often files are called "client shit"...:D>

Thanks for trying to help folks. This one isn't showing up in the usual places for the other photos.
I'm starting to think he did the ol' copy and paste out of photoshop. I ended up just pasting it back into photoshop and saving it as its own file and linking it back in. It's a small photo and seems to still look ok.
Hehe "client shit" I can relate to that.
