Just asked the big cheese about laying out some dough on this and he said "No." Apparently there isn't enough change between CS4 and CS3 to warrant the purchase of 30 copies for everyone. So sad... :(

How does the big cheese know? They're just announcing it now!?

We'll upgrade to 4 just before 5 comes out and then get that. That seems to be the perpetual plan around here.

I say everyone should wait to upgrade. Let the first patches come out.

None of it is secret anymore ;)
I really like some of the new Illustrator stuff. The tabbed files is pretty cool in my opinion. I'm also really liking the new tiling options for multiple windows and the menu setups you can access with the dropdown on the new toolbar at the top. Now you can adjust gradients and such right in the image. It has a new realtime color sep preview right in the artwork that will be real handy. You can create custom menus now that allow you to set up your workspace literally any way you want. The new improved isolation mode in my opinion is awesome. Double click any object and it isolates it so you can work on it without worrying about selecting anything else. If it's part of a group just keep double clicking til you get it down to the object you want to work on, double click off it and you are back to normal.
You can have multiple and different size artboards in a single file now. The designer in me can see how this will be pretty handy. The old prepress guy in me can see huge problems if this isn't used right.

The artboards were exciting. They didn't mention much about Bridge...any enhancements there?

I watched it this morning, via the live stream. Not sure where it might be posted for those who didn't catch it while it was live.

I just got a notification that the meeting has been posted at http://direct.adobe.com/r?xJvlnlnEnJTnlElWPPcJP
Illy might be worth updating after watching all those videos. Fireworks seems interesting as well. Everything else I think I can do without. However, some of the new illy stuff I would like.
Does anyone happen to know if there is a student design premium upgrade available? I wasn't able to locate it only one for Dreamweaver.

Thomas Phinney of Adobe reports on the typefaces that will be included in the CS4 package. Linkage here (http://blogs.adobe.com/typblography/2008/09/cs4_fonts.html)

From what I've been able to gather from the InDesign Talks emails, you can upgrade from a student version to a non-student version, but it doesn't look like you can upgrade from student to another student version.
If you're still eligible for a student discount, many are recommending just purchasing the full suite as opposed to upgrading a student version as being a cheaper solution. Your best bet might be to call Adobe on that though, it's not 100% clear what the student upgrade paths are, if any.
